108 Sun Salutations for Summer Solstice – FREE EVENT
The number 108 has long been a sacred one in Hinduism and in yoga. Out of that has come a tradition of doing 108 Sun Salutations on important days. This practice is often done as a way to welcome in something new—on New Year’s Day or a birthday, at the Equinoxes or Solstices as we transition from one season to the next. In that spirit, I invite you to join us for a practice of 108 Sun Salutations on June 21st for the Summer Solstice.
Moving through 108 Sun Salutations can be a vigorous practice, and is meant in part to build heat to help us burn away the old and make space for the new. It can also bring a great sense of accomplishment and thus help build our resiliency for difficult times. If you have never done a 108 Sun Salutations practice, but would like to try, you are warmly invited to join us and work at your pace, doing what your body is up for that day. If you have done this practice before, please also join us and bring your encouragement to fellow yogis.
You’ll also be invited in this practice to set intentions for the next few months, if you would like to do so. This is a great way to welcome the change of seasons and invite newness in to your life!
THIS IS A FREE EVENT- but please register to attend! Class will be held on the patio.
