If you suffer from chronic patterns of tension that comes from old injuries, scar tissue, or compensatory muscle / soft tissue fatigue, give your body the consistent attention it needs to heal with a six or eight week myofascial release or massage package.
It takes the body longer to unwind and reprogram if it has been out of alignment for a long period of time, meaning multiple sessions will help you avoid a rebound effect where the muscles and or connective tissue go right back after only one or two sessions. Included in your weekly session, you’ll also have a maximum ten minute somatic consultation to help you in your healing.

This relaxing healing service combines the soothing sound & vibration of a Bioacoustic Mat, hands-on energy work, guided visualization + intuitive insight (optional). You may remain fully clothed, and have the table heated and/or blanket for added comfort. Sessions start with a check-in chat and then run 45-60 minutes. No two sessions are the same and are tailored to you specifically.
Sessions are with Jennifer Avoca Ross.
The John Barnes technique of myofascial release is a gentle hands on modality. The therapist uses gentle sustained pressure held a minimum of 3 minutes to affect the fascia allowing it to elongate and rehydrate the ground matrix of the tissues.
This is highly effective in treating chronic pain at its source. The pressure is held without lubricants on the skin so that the fascia is able to be gently stretched without the therapist’s hands sliding.
Myofascial release has been found to be highly effective in treating a myriad of conditions from TMJ dysfunction to urinary issues to fibromyalgia and much more. It is also a recommended adjunct to PT after surgery. For more information about the John Barnes technique click here.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a combination of acupressure points and deep tissue massage specifically designed for chronic long-term pain. Sciatica, low back, hip, neck, shoulder, and head pain are just a few of the problem areas to which neuromuscular therapy can provide quick relief.
NMT’s time-tested, hands-on techniques are built upon a science-based foundation and guided by clinical evidence. NMT is highly effective for clients who present with chronic pain and is often successful in reducing or eliminating even longstanding painful conditions. *See Massage + Bodywork pricing

Heated stones are used in bodywork to open muscles and connective tissue. They expand blood vessels, which encourages healthy blood flow throughout the body, and can promote deep relaxation.
Hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain and reduce stress. They can be especially effective in the treatment of fibromyalgia and arthritis. Hot stones can be added to any massage for $20.
Couples massage is where two people are getting massaged at the same time, in the same space. You and your loved one are on separate massage tables, but in the same room, getting an hour full body treatment by 2 different therapists. Join us to enjoy this deeply relaxing and sweet experience: $180
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese therapeutic technique for stress reduction and healing. Reiki helps alleviate stress and anxiety, body pain, and emotional pain. In addition, it is a wonderful non-invasive way to achieve deep relaxation.
Thai Massage is received clothed and without oil – typically on a padded mat on the floor, but can also be performed on a massage table, if getting up or down off the floor is an issue for the client.
Its excellent for those with mobility issues; anyone who has a hard time undressing/dressing (disabled, elderly); and / or athletes, as it uses a combination of stretching + compression, similar to physical therapy.

As soon as I saw Waynesville Yoga Center was opening, I came. I am so thankful to Jay for a place where I feel safe, not self-conscious, and where I can attend classes that benefit me without feeling in competition with anyone else. Restorative and Yin have improved my flexibility and meditation skills; Beginner Flow, Flow Level 1 and Gentle Chair Yoga have increased my strength and balance and also challenged me, as has Barre and Balance!
I feel better than I ever have – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have met so many new friends. All of the instructors I have had are wonderful and willing to share of themselves. Thank you, Jay, your endeavor is making a tremendous difference in so many lives!”
