What’s Your Hangup!?
We all have them: hangups that become obstacles to meeting our goals. They’re valid, legitimate, and deserve to be honored & addressed! We’ve heard from several of you over the past few months who want to commit to our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program in 2021, but have specific concerns. Thank you for sharing what matters to you, and for letting us address these common hangups to YTT! ♥
Obstacles to Yoga Teacher Training
Time
Yes, it’s a big commitment! But isn’t anything in life that really matters? Especially a journey of self-discovery that offers tools & resources for the rest of your life… Given that COVID will most likely alter our usual routines & schedules for at least the next six months (if not longer), this could actually be the perfect time to take the plunge.
Perhaps you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum: busier than ever, despite COVID. If you’re ready for this journey now but have prior commitments on one of the scheduled weekends, don’t let that stop you! We offer makeup options to accommodate the realities of busy modern life. Contact us for details…
Whether you have extra time right now – or are crazy busy – you are worth this investment of time and energy! ♥
(If it is safe to get out & about in six months, our program schedule offers the summer off, so you can get out and enjoy the world again! 🙂 )
Money
We get it: it’s all about the Benjamins. That’s true for all of us. However, don’t forget that the sooner you commit to our program, the less you pay! If you’ve been sitting on the fence, you could literally be costing yourself. Click here for price tier details.
Also, keep in mind that our program is more affordable than any other we’ve seen in the Southeast – and the cost of our reading list is less than other schools’ too. If you’re committed to getting your RYT-200, why not get the most bang for your buck?
Nerves
One of the most beautiful things that yoga offers each of us is the opportunity to face our fears and challenge our egos. “Am I strong enough? Am I smart enough? But I have that shoulder injury… I’ve only been practicing for a few years. What if they find out who I really am?”
You are strong enough. You are smart enough. Your Yoga is ready to receive your injuries, your past traumas, and all of the parts of yourself that you don’t like or are afraid to show the world. Your Yoga can support healing for every aspect of your life and every level of your being.
Our program doesn’t promise to fix your old injuries, or heal your deepest wounds. But it does provide the framework for you to heal – and take the best care possible – of yourself. It will give you the tools to prevent injury going forward and address injuries when they can’t be avoided. It will offer you the chance to realize that you’re more than enough, exactly the way you are.

She is attracted to fluid vinyasa styles, including moon salutations, and loves to geek out about yoga “off the mat” – such as how the philosophies behind the physical postures can enrich our journey, both for ourselves and for others. She is honored to co-teach the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Waynesville Yoga Center, and loves facilitating healing services to the community. A writer, dancer, massage therapist, creative marketing nerd, and proud Mom, she can be found travelling, enjoying the rhythm of the seasons, or soaking up the natural world when not working.
